Our Communities

Additional Information

Buzz Bingo has always been actively involved in encouraging its employees to be involved in the local community. This is because, for many of our customers, they are regarded as an intrinsic part of the neighbourhood.

Buzz Bingo seeks to engage with our communities at both a national and local level. At a national level, Buzz Bingo will always be engaged in supporting charities as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility. We are committed to support Variety – the Childrens’ Charity until early 2018, where our aim is to collectively raise over £500,000. At a local level, Buzz encourages individual clubs to support more localised charitable activity.

Managers are given a degree of freedom to choose what they engage in and, as with the national contribution, we believe that this significantly adds to Buzz Bingo's standing in, and relationships with, the local communities we operate in.There are five reasons why we do this:

First, the board believes that as a large company Buzz has a responsibility to demonstrate its commitment to socially responsible practices.

Secondly, it is something that our customers expect us to do, either directly or indirectly through supporting charitable organisations.

Thirdly, our employees believe that they should be given the time to support outside charitable activity. Not only do we encourage this because we believe it is the right thing to do, but there is often a close correlation between employee community engagement and morale within a company. Our employees have a high self-esteem and we believe that this is, in part, due to our belief that we have a broader social responsibility.

Fourthly, corporate community involvement makes our staff far more sensitive to consumer perception. It helps develop their skills and competence across a broad range of areas; it improves their teamwork and assists their communication skills.

And finally, we believe that it helps improve our employees’ job satisfaction and it is certainly the case that young people entering the job market now expect to make a social impact through their work and are willing to put the time and effort into supporting these activities.
