John Kelly OBE became non-executive Chairman to the Board on 4 June 2018. John is Chairman of the Advisory and Investment Boards of Kings Park Capital, a private equity fund specialising in investments into the leisure and hospitality sector. John was the Founder of Gala Coral Group Ltd (formerly Gala Group Ltd) where he led a management buy-in from Bass plc of its bingo division in December of 1997 for £300 million. He then served as CEO until 2004, and was then Executive Chairman until leaving the Group in 2007. John served as a Director of Mecca Leisure plc from 1984 to 1992. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Ladbrokes Coral Group plc since 1 September 2010 and served as its Senior Independent Non-Executive Director since 1 September 2010 until 4 December 2015, when he was appointed Chairman. John served as a Board Member of The Prince of Wales Business in the Community charity from 2003 to 2010. John was appointed an OBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours List 2007 for services to the gambling industry.
